Pumpkin is an 18 month old male Ibizan Hound Coss. We can only guess her DNA but she does have a strong resemblance to a Podenco ( which is odd because we rescued her from Romania?? Ours is not to reason why ;). There may also be some whippet in her. She is a beautiful unique little girl.
I met Pumpkin on my trip to Romania in April. She was in the hell hole Breasta public shelter where over a hundred dogs had been massacred the day before we got there. She was desperately trying to escape her kennel, desperately trying to get us to notice her. Despite the fact we couldn’t get to her it was blatantly obvious that she was a friendly charismatic dog with a lot of love to give. Of course she needed to be rescued.
Pumpkin has now been in foster for a couple of weeks. She has discovered how to play with toys and how to do normal ‘dog’ things rather than just struggle to survive. She mixes well with the dogs that she lives with and has met out on walks. She currently lives with a cat and has been good with him too. She walks well on a lead but is still learning to be brave around traffic noises and other situations that she should of become accustomed to as a puppy. In no time at all we are absolutely sure she will enjoy every single aspect of life. She is young and she has a great outlook on life, nothing is going to hold this girl back!
