Ursu – 2 year old female Cross-Breed

Ursu is a 2 year old female Cross-Breed. Some dogs just have no idea when they’re on to a good thing and because of this Ursu keeps messing it up. His problem is that he is just not that great at introductions. In fact, I’d actually go so far as to say Ursu is absolutely rubbish at introductions! He needs calm and quiet and time to sniff around a person, quite intimately sometimes too, all the while being completely ignored. He has no manners when it comes to meeting new dogs either. He will bark if he feels threatened. However, this is all an act. He’s trying to hide his vulnerability behind his big boy bark.

If you can get passed all that he will reveal the soppy boy underneath. Loyal, loving and playful. He loves nothing more than a fuss, a treat and to be told what a good boy he is. He would play for hours with my children and places his head in the nearest lap when he’s tired and needs a cuddle.

Ursu’s initial behaviour is understandable after his horrible start in life. As a tiny puppy he was discovered at a train station with horrific injuries, he very nearly didn’t make it. He’d been beaten to within an inch of his life. It’s amazing he trusts again, let alone the love he exudes from every inch of his being. He is learning and absolutely beams with pride when praised. If he can find that special someone that can see passed him behaving like a complete wally the first time they meet and have the patience to give him another chance they really will be rewarded.

Ursu will need an experienced owner that can manage his initial behaviours whilst working to reassure him too. He is living with dog savvy children and other dogs but anyone interested in giving Ursu a home will need to be prepared to visit him a few times to gain his trust!
