Sarnie is a small Terrier(ish) type dog of around five years old. We met Sarnie on our trip to Romania in April when she was living in a fuel station, as one of a trio of dogs. Sarnie was pregnant at the time and if we hadn’t taken her that would probably have remained the cycle of her life. Sarnie is a very sweet, shy and unassuming dog with a surprising stubborn streak! I say this because over the last three years we have rescued hundreds of dogs and had to lead train the majority of them because they have never been in one. This little dog however is utterly refusing and has beaten even our most experienced fosterers she is having none of it.

Its not that we haven’t tried every trick we know but its been months now and in a first for us, we are admitting defeat. As it stands right now, Sarnie needs a home where her adopters won’t mind not being able to walk her so she needs a nice stimulating garden to potter and laze around in. Of course it is very possible that over time, her new adopters may succeed where we have failed but having seen the determined look in her eye for myself I wouldn’t lay money on it.

Sarnie lives with cats and dogs very amicably, she is still afraid of being picked up but just panics and shrieks, she is not a biter. A bit of time and patience goes along way with this little dog and the icing on the cake would be a message in a few months time with a photo of her out walking. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
