Phoebe – 6 month old female Terrier Cross

Phoebe is a 6 month old female Terrier cross. Phoebe is looking for a home and is currently in foster in Swindon, here is a message from her foster mum. Our wonderful foster doggie Phoebe is ready for a new home, this 8 month old bundle of lusciousness has been a delight to care for, she is almost 9 kilos so will probably be around 11-14 Kilos fully grown. She still needs reminding to ask to be let out for a wee, so it is still down to humans to steer this. She is excellent with men, women, children, dog and although not directly tested with cats she has registered zero interest when passing them on dog walks even though mine go crazy. She walks lovely on the lead with my dogs, can get wriggly on the way home as she never wants it to end, but if you switch to the front ring on the harness you can steer her nicely.

Always greets other doggies enthusiastically and wants to be everybody’s friend. Large vehicles still unnerve her at times but she has got used to the majority of traffic noises. She doesn’t enjoy car travel much but tolerates it well for up to 30 mins with a modified cardigan wrapped snugly around her for reassurance (will supply). Best suited to a energetic family with another young at heart doggie to learn from and play with, this pup spends 70% of her time is rough housing her furry mates! She is a hearty eater and will cheekily try to pinch more food if you let her, although not food aggressive as such she will guard her food/treats. Likes to snuggle up on the sofa with her head in your lap, or cosy up to your feet, loves a gentle brush and smooth down each day, takes a bath like a boss and adores kisses on her nose.

Don’t let her size deceive you, she is a 6 month old puppy still teething, needs plenty of antlers and chew toys. She can have the occasional blip as a throw back to her separation anxiety, and needs her humans to continue to not congratulate her for a night through, or time spent independently from them. An authoritative tone with no petting on exiting the room/house should continue to be a house rule. Has recently learnt to sit and give her paw, she would enjoy learning more commands as she is a bright girlie, eager to please. She will make a wonderful addition to any family.
