Jana – 3 year old female Cross-Breed

This lovely lady is Jana. I really can’t say enough good things about Jana she is just adorable, she is such a happy dog! Jana is approximately 3 years old she is a medium sized Cross-Breed. We know very little to nothing about her past but she has sustained some kind of trauma to her back left leg in the past, she has an old fracture which was left untreated and has healed slightly unusually, so she mustn’t have had an easy life, she copes really well and this doesn’t cause her any problems or stop her doing anything at all. Looking at her now you wouldn’t think she’d spent her live as a street dog and then such a long time in kennels waiting for her forever home, she has really taken to being a house dog, she’s house trained, she sleeps well through the night and she really loves her home comforts and a big comfy bed!

Jana adores people she loves everyone she meets, she is such a cuddly dog too. Jana is an active dog she is full of energy just like any young dog, she will happily entertain herself with her toys but she absolutely loves her walks and being out and about keeping busy, she walks well on a lead, if she is walking somewhere new she can be a little anxious and sticks close to you and looks up at you for reassurance. She is still quite puppy like in that she will go from being lively and playful to suddenly curling up in a ball and falling asleep. On the streets she won’t have been able to have a puppy hood so now is her time, now she is safe!

Jana is ideally looking for a home with another dog, she doesn’t really like being on her own so another doggy pal will make things easier and she will be more settled when she is left, understandably she doesn’t know where she belongs at the moment so she is a little clingy but once she settles in her forever home and feels more secure she will feel safe being left. Jana is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, she is ready and waiting for her forever home. Jana is in a foster home with a cat, she is learning to accept him slowly, he is dog confident so is letting her know cats are not play toys! Jana could be rehomed with a dog confident cat if time is taken to introduce them properly. Jana travels really well in the car.

Jana is a very intelligent dog she just wants to learn and please all the time, she is inquisitive and not shy about investigating new things. She is very food orientated which will help with her training. She would love to go to training classes to help cement the bond between her and her new owner, and also to give her new things to learn and do. The only thing Jana will need help with is getting to know new dogs when out on walks, she is fantastic with dogs if she meets them properly but she is scared of dogs she doesn’t know out on the field, I’m sure this stems back to her life on the street but with time, abit of work, the right training and reassurance this can be over come. So to sum Jana up she is a wonderful happy playful cuddly young dog just waiting for her chance to shine and become part of a family she longs for.
