Adrian – 1 year old male Cross-Breed

SRS Dog of the Day is the handsome Adrian 1 year old male Cross-Breed. Adrian is a beautiful boy who arrived in the Uk on the 10th November. he is currently in foster near Glasgow and is around 18 months old. Adrian gets on very well with other dogs, loves people and cuddles and is a typical young dog. He will need some training getting used to living in a home environment but these dogs learn ever so quickly. he takes treats very nicely – even sitting sometimes. He is a loving fun boy who deserves a family of his own. Adrian has not yet been cat tested.

Update from foster mum: Well what can I say ??? He is adorable He is great with all the other dogs but totally addicted to people !!! He loves to cuddle (and dance) and is very sweet and gentle He has no food aggression and eats happily alongside all my gang and is every doggies friend. He could live quite happily as an only dog in an active household or would romp sling nicely in a multi dog household. Add to this this stunning looks and he is just perfect.

Seth – 5 year old male Bearded Collie Cross

Gorgeous Seth 5 year old male Beardie cross has been in the UK for a few months now and came over looking very bald! He has had all his treatment now and his hair is growing back very nicely. He is around 28 kgs and looking for an active home. Seths foster carer says: Seth is the most amazing boy. He is very loving and puppy like. He loves to cuddle and plays nicely with all my gang … Unless there is food about so I feed him separately (but this is only to be expected and will pass once he realises that he does not have to worry about where his next meal is coming from) His fur is growing back beautifully and he is well on his way to becoming the handsome hound he once was again.

Although Seth is okay with dogs he knows it can take some time for him to used to them so if there are other dogs in the household you will need to be able to keep them separate until they have settled and make the correct introductions. He needs an experienced home with space for him to be separated from and existing dogs until such a time that he is comfortable in their company and someone that can do a lot of lead training to stop him being fearful of other dogs whilst out walking on lead as he is fine when he gets to meet them. I currently have 21 dogs living with me and Seth is fine with them all so please don’t be out off by the fact that you will need to take things slowly! On she is settled he is so playful and lives doggy company.

Lexie – 2 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Hello, my name is Lexie, I am a friendly Staffordshire Bull Terriergirl. I can be a bit nervous of men. I am only 2 years old. I am very pretty. I had to be returned to the Sanctuary because my owner was moving and couldn’t take me with them. I’m not very fond of other dogs, although I have lived with another dog, so may be ok with another dog if given a slow introduction. I don’t want to live with a cat either. I have been taught all my basic commands. I will happily give you my paw for a treat. I am house trained and I walk well on a Kumfi calmer lead. I behave well in the house. At the moment you can see all my ribs because I have lost weight. I put weight back on again and then the stress of the kennels means my weight keeps going up and down. I do have a healthy appetite I am very happy when I am being fussed. Please come and see me, I really can’t manage in kennels and the staff hate seeing me so sad.

Lexie xx

Rex – 4 year old male English Bull Terrier Cross

My name is Rex. I am a 4 year old English Bull Terrier cross. I seem to have made quite an impression on the photo lady! She called me “calendar boy” and said I was a right poser in front of the camera! I need a really special home! I need an experienced English Bull Terrier owner with no children or other pets. This is because I lived with a 70 year old lady for 4 years and she never walked me or socialised me so until I came to the Sanctuary I had never met another dog or a man! I then became really stressed and hated being in kennels and it looked like the future was bleak for me. The staff here aren’t ones to give up in a hurry so they decided to see how I behaved if they took me out of a kennel environment and they put me in the staff room with a couch of my own. Hey Presto!! Different dog. I am now a friendly boy with all the staff and I was good with the photo lady yesterday and I had never met her before. I still have a long way to go, but I sit beautifully and give my paw for a treat.

I will walk by other dogs but I have never met any face to face yet. I am nervous around dogs, but every situation I meet here at the Sanctuary is completely new to me and I am gradually getting used to everything. I am very lively, more like a 1 year old than a 4 year old, but I have so much catching up to do on enjoying life! I think it may take me some time to find my perfect home, but on the plus side I am extremely handsome! Please come and see me!

Love Rex xx

Joey – 10 month old male Lurcher

My name is Joey. I am an 10 month old Lurcher. I am a friendly, loving, good looking boy. I am house trained. I will give you my paw for a treat. I was originally homed from the Sanctuary as a pup. I love my walks and walk well on my lead. I am good with other dogs but don’t want to live with a cat. My owners have returned me to the Sanctuary because they cannot cope with me any longer. I have to confess that I am an escape artist – doors, fences, even through the window. I need a very secure garden or someone prepared to always let me out on a lead. If you leave me alone too long I will try and escape. I have to tell you that I am rather skilled at this so you have to know all this before considering taking me on. If you have a secure garden and keep your windows shut, then I am your perfect loving pet. I have heard that Zac and Lex the other lurchers have been rehomed in the last week, so I hoping this luck may be coming in 3s! Please come and see me.

Love Joey x

Candy – 8-9 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier

My name is Candy. I am a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I am 8/9 years old. I am a lovely girl. I am a bit overweight at the moment and I am currently on a diet. I was in a foster home for many months and I was great in the house. I am looking for a pet free home because I have never been socialised and I am not fond of dogs or cats! I love people though! I would so love a couch to cuddle up on. Please come and see me. I have been waiting for about 2 years for my new home. I would like lots of walks to slim me down a bit! I can also help you in the garden. I am a keen gardener, but you may have to direct my efforts if you know what I mean!

Love Candy xxx
P.S. If I have any medical expenses these will also be covered by the Sanctuary. I decided to get some new photos of Candy today as she has been waiting forever. I know they are all quite sinilar but she was having such a lovely time rolling about on the couch! She’s a proper tom boy, not at all lady like! The dogs so love a bit of time out from the kennels. The staff are very fond of Candy and would love to see her in a forever home soon.

Pickels – 5-6 year old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier

My name is Pickles. I am a Staffordshire Bull Terrier girl who has just arrived from the pound. I am one of the lucky ones, who is now safe and I am very grateful. You can tell how grateful I am from my nonstop wagging tail! We think I am about 5/6 years old. I am friendly and playful. I have not yet been assessed with other dogs but seem fine so far when walking past them. I look well fed and cared for. I am a typical excitable lovable Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Please come and see me.

Love Pickles xx
